Austin is the largest No Kill city in the country, and Austin Pets Alive!'s foster programs (also the largest in the country) were a key factor in Austin becoming a No Kill city and are vital to Austin staying No Kill. It’s fosters like YOU that keep advancing our lifesaving mission! As we emerge from the COVID-19 threat, we need fosters to stay active and flexible in saving the lives of animals most at risk, as we are experiencing a steep increase in returns and requests for help from shelters that will need to kill animals if we cannot alleviate their space shortages. With our ability to help dependent on the number of fosters willing to take these animals, we need fosters now more than ever.
