Josie is a gentle, sensitive girl with the heart of a herding dog and the soul of a softie. She came to us from a partner shelter after a recent scuffle left her with a laceration over her left hind leg and a few scrapes on her face. Despite her injuries, Josie remains sweet, alert, and eager to bond with the right person.
She’s currently toe-touching lame on her left hind leg, but her wounds are being treated and monitored closely. She’s expected to heal well with time, rest, and a bit of TLC. Josie has been incredibly tolerant during initial exams—though, like many sensitive pups, she prefers a “less is more” approach when it comes to restraint or handling.
🐶 Personality:
A little nervous at first, but very sweet once she feels safe
No attempts to bite, even when uncomfortable—she just communicates her stress with body language
Likely to blossom in a quiet, patient home where she can decompress and heal at her own pace
🏡 Ideal Home:
Someone with experience or willingness to go slow and build trust
A calm environment without a lot of rough play while her leg heals
Preferably no overly rambunctious dogs during recovery
