Catero: The Gentleman Who Perfected the Art of Companionship
The Ultimate Low-Maintenance Best Friend
Some dogs want to run marathons. Catero wants to perfect the art of being exactly where you are.
He has mastered what so many of us are still learning: how to be fully present, deeply content, and endlessly grateful for life's simple pleasures. He'll spend 20 blissful hours a day on his bed, your couch, or at your feet—not because he lacks personality, but because he's found the secret to happiness in quiet companionship.
What Makes Catero Extraordinary:
Catero is that rare soul who combines the loyalty of a cattle dog with the laid-back nature of your favorite armchair philosopher. He greets every person with genuine warmth and a smile that says "I'm so glad you're here." He leans all the way in for a good petting. His wags tell the truth: he believes people are wonderful, life is good, and a day spent beside you is a day well-lived.
The Perfect Housemate:
Zero accidents since arriving—housetrained doesn't begin to cover it
Only chews his own toys, even when temptation is literally lying around
Lived peacefully with a small senior dog in his previous life
He's done well with other dogs and kids (scored 4/5 with dogs, 3/5 with children)

His Ideal Day:
A leisurely morning walk, +/- quality time in the yard, then long stretches of simply being with you—whether you're working at your desk, watching TV, or reading a book. He's the friend who doesn't need constant entertainment, just your presence.
Medical Notes:
Catero is heartworm positive, but we provide all treatment at no cost to adopters through our clinic. He's currently on doxycycline and will receive ProHeart injection treatment—we'll coordinate everything. He's up to date on all other care.
Why This Sweet Soul is Still Here:
In a world that celebrates the flashy and energetic, Catero's gentle dignity can get overlooked. But for someone seeking a true companion—not a project, not a challenge, just a loyal friend who makes every day better by being in it—Catero is absolutely perfect.
He's lived 8 years learning how to be grateful, patient, and kind. Now he's looking for someone who appreciates that these might be the most valuable qualities of all.
